STEM Advisory Committee

By Bridgette Ouimette, Events and Partnerships

Construction is already underway for Nativity Prep’s new STEM Community Center to further our mission of empowering marginalized students, and specifically in the STEM industries in which there is a smaller wage gap and opportunities for advancement. As we develop this center, we look to the wisdom of STEM professionals in San Diego to advise us on the curriculum, programming and funding opportunities that will sustain it.

The Nativity Prep STEM Advisory committee is comprised of industry professionals who will help NPA to develop strategies, implement programs, and guide policies that address the barriers faced by marginalized students in pursuing STEM education.

The Nativity Prep STEM Advisory Committee will provide valuable insights and play a pivotal role in shaping our initiatives and providing guidance in identifying and addressing systemic barriers that hinder marginalized students; access to quality STEM education; collaborating with organizations to create partnerships that enhance opportunities for underrepresented students; developing curriculum and programming to connect marginalized students with and creating pathways programming to connect marginalized students with and creating pathways to STEM professions; and promoting awareness and dismantling stereotypes to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students in STEM.

This committee will meet quarterly throughout the 2023-2024 school year.
