If you have been following our “Where Are They Now?” articles closely, you will recognize Jennifer Damian ’05. We highlighted Jennifer’s story and her journey with Nativity Prep. She recalled how two teachers knocked on the door of her parents’ home and recruited her to join the very first class at Nativity Prep Academy. In a recent presentation at our Taste and Tour event in the spring of 2022, Jennifer shared that she felt like Nativity Prep took a chance on her; a chance that has significantly impacted her life and helped create a life of opportunity, choice, and service.
Jennifer has truly taken on the idea of service and giving back to Nativity Prep. She has returned to mentor multiple students and given numerous presentations at our events. Now, Jennifer will be stepping into a new role at Nativity Prep, allowing her to serve our students in a new way. Jennifer has accepted a position as our first alumna to join our Board of Trustees. We are overjoyed to have her accept this position and to have her insights, experiences, and expertise joining our Board.
Having our first alumna on our Board of Trustees is a significant moment. We talk with our students from the day they join us in sixth grade about how they will one day return to give back. We have seen this with graduates who return to mentor, help in the front office or classrooms, or to give presentations. Having Jennifer leading our community as a member of our Board will elevate the voices of our students, graduates, and families in helping us to continue to lead the nation in getting a college degree for our students.
