Our beautiful daughter, Sarah, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2023, in her home in Maui. Although Sarah was only 30 years old, she lived a life full of friendships, travel, adventure, and laughter. She grew up in Encinitas, graduated from La Costa Canyon High School, and went on to earn a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Northern Arizona University. Following graduation, Sarah moved to Maui where she worked in several hotels and restaurants. After living in Maui for a few years, her desire to travel the world and her love of children took her to Vietnam where she taught English as a second language. In addition to teaching, Sarah enjoyed traveling throughout Southeast Asia. From there, Sarah decided upon a new adventure, becoming a crew member on a super yacht, even though she had never been on a boat before! She earned the appropriate certifications to work on these luxury yachts, bought a one-way ticket to Ft. Lauderdale, and spent the next several years sailing throughout the Caribbean and other exotic locations. She grew tired of the constant travel, and recently moved back to Maui to “settle down”.
Sarah had a wonderful spirit and a light that touched all who knew her. We will miss her very much, but we know that she is at peace with God.
Sarah was always so happy to hear of the students we mentored over the years at Nativity Prep Academy. It gave her great pleasure to see that we were working with children, and that we were doing it together. Because of her affinity for youth we couldn’t think of a better place to have donations given in her name.
