Romeo Iriate NPA ‘19, High Tech High Media Arts ‘23

Romeo Iriate recently completed a four week internship at Nativity Prep Academy this past January as part of his course of study requirements from High Tech High Media Arts. Romeo spent the month serving the community as a teaching assistant under the mentorship of our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Jodi Drake. As part of his experience, he was tasked with creating engaging math games to strengthen fundamental math skills for the students. Romeo shared that his favorite part of the experience was seeing the students grow and gain confidence in their skills.

In his final presentation (pictured here), Romeo reflected on how much he had grown since he was in

sixth grade at Nativity Prep. The experience challenged him to proactively try to connect with the students and form relationships with the students. He found that once he had established a rapport with the students, he was more effective as an educator. We loved having Romeo back on campus!
