All events will be held on campus:

Nativity Prep Academy

2755 55th Street San Diego, CA 92105

Our Las Posadas Mass and Procession commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus. Our middle school students play the role of Joseph, Mary, and other members of the story.

After the mass and celebration, all are invited to join us for a home cooked Mexican buffet at the parish hall that will be offered by our Parent Committee as a fundraiser.

Starting at 2 pm, our middle school students will present their fall benchmark projects to the community. Each year, Nativity Prep students work in groups to investigate and report on meaningful social topics. This year the students chose to research the air and water quality of Chicano Park. This study was especially meaningful to our students who live in or around the Chicano Park neighborhood. The results have been eye-opening to our students and they are looking forward to sharing their group projects.

The benchmark project requires our students to integrate multiple academic subjects into their presentations. In math, students will create different types of graphs to show their results from the layout of the land and google maps exercise. In English, students will be writing a five-paragraph essay explaining their research. In science, students will create a display showing their results from investigating and experimenting with the air and water quality. In social studies, students will be creating their own mural to portray their chosen issue (water or air quality).

We hope you’re able to attend any portion of the events scheduled for Friday, December 20th.
