Acceptance into Nativity Prep in sixth grade is often called a “Golden Ticket” because students who are accepted to Nativity Prep are five times more likely to graduate from college than their demographic peers.
As a tuition-free institution, students rely entirely on the generosity of benefactors to provide a scholarship to cover the cost of the extended-day and extended-year college prep “tuition” of an independent, private, Catholic school. The sponsorship program allows students to be matched with donors who support the student’s movement through the 11-year program with nearly endless support. Up until now, this sponsorship amount has been unattainable for many, but there is a new program this year.
While one of the best parts of my job is seeing our newest 6th graders arrive on campus in their first days of school with nervous excitement, the worst part is turning away well qualified applicants. After completing the application, interview and vetting process, we have dozens of families that we unfortunately can’t accept into this Golden opportunity. Though we have the classroom space, and faculty/staff to support additional students, the reality of limited financial resources prevents us from accepting them. At the start of this school year, we accepted more students than ever, and with your help, aspire to increase enrollment again for the coming school year. I believe that our community wants to offer these golden opportunities.
I invite you to be one of 50 people who says “yes” to crowd-fund one full Middle School scholarship. 50 donors saying “yes” to contribute $25 a month enables us to accept one additional middle student this upcoming academic year. Will you make a Golden Ticket available?
